One man’s story of surviving, rebuilding, and remembering.
Shahen Guiragossian’s memoir, The Hawk, traces the journey of an Armenian American who faced loss, love, and renewal—and has found purpose today in sharing the lessons of his life.
Perfect for readers who find meaning in true stories of resilience and reflection.
Inside the Story
The Hawk invites readers into the quiet moments that shape a life—childhood memories, the struggles of building businesses, family heartbreaks, and the small victories that define a man’s character.
Written with honesty, humor, and grace, Shahen Guiragossian reflects on what it means to endure, to persevere, and to keep moving forward—even when the world feels heavy. His story is both deeply personal and universally human.
The Human Threads that Connect Us All
-
We’ve all faced moments that tested us. The Hawk reminds us that strength isn’t found in avoiding hardship—it’s found in how we rise after it.
-
True connection can come from the most unexpected places. This story celebrates the people who stand by us, shape us, and remind us we’re not alone.
-
Where we come from matters—but it doesn’t define where we’re going. Our roots can ground us even as we grow toward something new.
-
No matter what we’ve lost or how many times we’ve fallen, there’s always a reason to begin again. Hope is what keeps us moving forward.
“Even at my age. even though I still think much about what’s behind me...I’m still chasing what’s next—another goal, another idea, another reason to keep going. Maybe that’s the secret of life: you never really arrive, you just keep becoming.”
A Story That Gives Back
More than a personal journey, The Hawk is a tribute to the invisible threads that bind us.
In honor of his Armenian roots and the homeland that shaped his family’s story, Shahen donates half of all book proceeds to the Armenian Relief Society—helping carry forward a legacy of hope, healing, and unity within Armenian communities around the world.
The other half supports the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, a cause etched deeply in his heart after losing his nephew, Garo, in the tragedy of September 11th. The memory of that day—and the lives forever changed by it—remain a guiding force in his mission to give back.
Through every page and every act of generosity, The Hawk continues what it was meant to do from the start—honor the past while helping others move forward.
