The Longest Bridge

We build towers that reach the stars, but we cannot reach each other to make peace. We stretch bridges across oceans, but we cannot stretch our hearts toward one another.

Science heals. It finds cures, mends broken bodies—yet we invest in weapons that erase lives in seconds. We plant gardens, shape landscapes, create beauty—then scorch the very earth we claimed to love.

We lift people up, only to tear down what makes us human. Why? I won’t ask. Because we still don’t have the answer.

I want to cry, but my tears have dried. I want to scream, but silence has become the anthem. And yet—there are still those who hope. Who reach across divides. Who believe in connection, in creation, in healing.

But right now, it feels like destruction is louder than love. Division is faster than unity. And those who still believe—they are tired. They are few. But they are not gone.

We tell our children to grow strong, to be gifts to the world. But the places meant to teach them are failing. Schools should help them rise. Instead, too many fall behind—not because they lack potential, but because we’ve stopped nurturing it. They were meant to be blessings. We’re turning them into burdens.

And still—some keep trying. Some keep planting. Some keep reaching. Some keep believing.

If you are one of them—this is for you. Don’t stop. Don’t give up. Don’t let the noise of destruction drown out your quiet hope. We need you. The world needs you.

And maybe, just maybe, your voice will be the one that opens the door. Your hand will be the one that reaches across. Your heart will be the one that reminds us what it means to be human.
